
AMAL BISHARAT holds a BA in Music and Theater (Cum Laude Graduate) from Minnesota State University in Moorhead, Minnesota. She is currently the founder/director of Moonlet Theater and brings to this role a great wealth of experience and a belief that theater and music have the power to transform and inspire the quality of our lives. For the past 11 years she served as the Director and Musical Director of the Drama Program at Lafayette Elementary in the Outer Richmond District of San Francisco. She has dedicated countless hours introducing hundreds (if not thousands) of San Francisco Public School children to the musical and theatrical arts.

Additionally, Amal is an actress and soprano/mezzo soprano, with extensive stage & performance experience, most recently playing the lead role of Cathy in Moonlet Theater's 2015 production of "The Last Five Years" by Jason Robert Brown. In 2009, she appeared in the World Premier performance of "Knitting", as part of the San Francisco Fringe Festival, where she performed her orignal song, "Mixed Up and Matched". Also she notably performed the leading role of Ann Corocoran in "House at the Edge of the World" at the Minnesota Fringe Festival in 1999, and the role of Patsy in "Las Nuevas Tamaleras" at Minnesota State University in 1998.
Other performances include the recording of an original song/voice over for a West Virginia Tourism Board Television Commercial in 2011. And, as a choral singer for years, she performed in numerous concerts with the San Francisco Bach Choir.
Amal is also singer/songwriter & guitarist. She also teaches yoga at Purusha Yoga Studio. She also loves to create and take pictures. She believes there is beauty and art in everything. She is married with 2 kids and a dog, and lives in San Francisco, CA.
