A native of Honolulu, CALVIN KEAOOLA MURASAKI is a violinist well versed in all styles from Hawaiian to Blues to Gypsy Jazz, Latin and Classical. He joined a US Rodeo Circuit Tour with Pearl River Country Band and Country Music Hall of Fame's Patrick Haggerty. He also performed with legendary rock band, It's A Beautiful Day; members of Robin Nolan's Gypsy Jazz Trio and the Honolulu Symphony. You can find him playing with Callisto String Quartet, Blind Lemon Pledge Blues Band, Left Coast Special Cajun Band and Keaoola Jazz Ensemble, among others. As former faculty of the esteemed North Carolina School of the Arts and Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC Calvin continues to teach and coach classical/jazz violin, and folk/bluegrass/Latin fiddling in the Bay Area.
